The Global Awareness Interest House organized a cardmaking event Sunday afternoon to support victims of Friday’s crash that injured four Whitman students.

Sophomore Katie Radosevic and first-year Lindsey Jacobs were transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, Ore. on Friday. Sophomores Khoa Ngyuen and Maggie Allen, the driver of the vehicle, are back on campus and recovering from other injuries.

At the event, students sifted through magazines, construction paper and tissue paper to make cards and paper flowers.

Sophomore Deirdre Clarke, one of Radosevic’s housemates, said the cardmaking effort was about supporting the injured students.

“This is really scary and we just want to support them,” she said.

For those who didn’t come on Sunday, the Global Awareness House has a box for students to deliver cards to all four of the crash victims.

“We’ll make sure that they get them,” McCartan said.
